sometimes ringo wouldn't be able to hear the other beatles at all because of the screams yet he always kept in time w them by watching their movements from the BACK. technical skill whatever but he was the absolute best in terms of that and perfect for the beatles.

A lot of folks do not understand that Ringo was pretty much the best rock & roll drummer in Liverpool at the time. He was in Hamburg with Rory Storm at the same time The Beatles were. John Lennon acknowledged the fact that when Ringo sat in for an absent Pete Best a couple of times it was pretty much the end for Pete Best. They all knew Ringo was an incredible drummer and wanted him in the band. Listen to some of the early live stuff. The guy was a beast.

The first Beatles song I heard was She Loves You, it hit number one in Canada way before Ed Sullivan, and Ringo's opening on the tom toms absolutely floored me.
