CLEAN VC149 Artoo Detoo (R2D2) Not dirty!

This is how you can have a clean Star Wars Vintage Collection VC149 R2-D2 Artoo Detoo!

Hey! I just realized something! Now it makes perfect sense to me why the "New" Vintage Collection R2-D2 was so grimy looking!!! It was for the Luke's X-wing! For the part where the guy says to Luke "This Droid looks a bit beat up"! "You want a new one"?

For anyone who really wants a clean version of this VC149 mold, it’s the exact same as the the Force Link R2-D2 which is actually based on the Disney Parks Droid Factory/Galaxy’s Edge or ‘Galaxy of Adventures - The Astromech’ mold which is also a nice clean version too. The first Force Link 1.0 individual release is clean and the Force Link 2.0 Dual Pack with C-3PO is weathered very similar to VC149, it’s basically the exact same figure minus the Force Link feature itself.
I firmly believe this VC149 figure is based on the scene where R2 & 3PO first land on Tatooine and go their separate ways only to end up back together in the Jawa Sandcrawler. It needs a cardback with that scene.

That looks much better! Though I do like the weathered R2 on that cardback as well.

Clean R2 definately needed on that cardback, not sure why you would put a dirty droid and show a minty fresh card, it's a great little R2 all the same, nice video 👍

I agree with you 100 on this. It doesn’t make sense that they put a dirty one in that pack with the clean back. I’m in search of a good clean R2 to hang out with Mando End Scene Luke

I wish they would have put that dirty one with the right pic you know when he damaged after the death star was destroyed ....way to go man I dig what you did there looks nicer with a clean R-2...I like that black series one because he comes with the Jets even despite the flaws he has 😁👍

This TVC dirty R2 has an unpainted top center on his dome. It should be painted blue like your clean one. I don’t understand how or why Hasbro messes that up.

I'm wondering if the bubble could be removed cleanly from the card using lighter fluid? it might loosen the glue holding the bubble to the card without the need to cut it. Haven't tried it myself, but have used lighter fluid successfully to remove sticker residue from star wars cardbacks and packaging
