Awesome trip, Jason. Nice to show off some of your tricks too. I love the off trail stuff. That is an easy way to find some areas all to yourself. Funny about the "you don't want to see what's in there!" (referring to the cat hole) LOL. Nice trick with the stick and the vestibule. Setting records in the hammock. All excellent points and I agree 100%. I think overall I prefer solo backpacking. I use the same fire starters. Work very well.

You're the king of solo trips! I'll have to say the one off trail trip I've done was probably the most fun I've had. We basically started at the top of a mountain and followed a creek all the way down until it was paddleable. Such a rad trip!

solo is the best, although that's all I know, best advice for off trail is to have not to much stuff hanging off your pack. so glad to see another one of your videos!!!

Solo hiking is perfect for those moments to reconnect with nature, but going with friends is fun especially bouncing your energies off each other, sharing stories and enjoying nature together 🤠🌲🍃

You're right small waterfalls can be just as beautiful as big ones.

When I bushwhack off trail/no trail I like to have a little ball compass on my shoulder strap to make sure I'm going in the right general direction. (Checking now and then on the GPS to see how close I am to the destination.)
