Basic Bookkeeping Spreadsheet Template

Here I'll show you how to create a simple template in Excel that can be used to do your bookkeeping for your small business.
Anyone can do this, I have intentionally not used any formula's except for the SUM function. However you can use this bookkeeping spreadsheet as a foundation to build in further automation by using formulas and functions.

Microsoft Excel is a great tool and a cost effective solution for doing the bookkeeping in a small business that does not require a paid subscription for accounting software.

This cash book ledger will allow you to account for GST and to calculate your BAS figures. Your accountant will like it as it will make their job alot easier if you can give them your business figures in this format. It could also save you money on their bill.
