Time lapse of a boardwalk being built

This time lapse photography shows one of the Maydencroft teams building a boardwalk for a school in south Hertfordshire. The build took two weeks.

Boardwalks are something of a Maydencroft speciality. We have built them for all the major conservation groups across the UK. Over boggy and wet ground, or open water, they are a magical way of being able to follow a trail through otherwise inaccessible ground.

Maydencroft install wooden boardwalks and recycled plastic boardwalks or most commonly, a combination of both materials to give the appearance of a wooden boardwalk but with the extended life of a plastic structure.

Our contracting division can provide a free quotation for the design and installation of boardwalks.

Nice. But the most important part is the installation of the post into the floor of the swamp. How deep into the mud? What was used to drive them down? That is the foundation of the whole thing.

It's pressure treated softwood but the legs it stands on and in contact with the water is fresh cut green oak.

I was wondering how you guys inserted the posts into the wetland. I am studying landscape design and have proposed a boardwalk through a section of the site. Did you drive the posts in with a machine?

marine grade wood is crazy tough too!! they use it for marinas and piers here in Mich!! u can't even pound a nail into it without it destroying the nails!! and we're talking 4 or 5 inch steel nails!
