I liked how you rendered on the wet SBR. That is the best way to ensure a really good bond.
Usually do 4-1 base and 5-1 top and when I scratch up I do wavy lines, quite important.

newbie here, would there be any advantage to using a 50/50 cement slurry with SBR to help with bonding or is SBR 60/40 with water a better solution? thanks

Great videos and well explained. Any tips on how to plaster engineering brick piers? Or is it even possible because of the glassy finish of the brick? Thanks.

hey Mac. I'm watching you do this skilled trade from the other side of this little planet of ours, in Sydney. I've only watched one episodes of your program so far, which I've just finished watching, dated from 2017, where your plastering a 2.5m x 4.0m ceiling on stilts. I was riveted I must say, watching you fill all those wee holes was mind boggling precision. And from someone who has never even touched wet render, it does look very precise. A couple of things I would have liked to hear you describe, if you don't mind me being so bold, is to describe how the render feels to your touch, giving me an impression of how it would feel with a trowel in hand. How much pressure you need to applying from the surface of the trowel. you've probably mentioned all this in previous episodes, so if you have, please excuse me. So much I'd like to ask you. You're obviously a skilled plasterer . It amazes me that someone can get a surface so broad, so perfectly flat. Also, how do you deal with large ceiling surfaces where you have no chance in getting it done in one go. Is it difficult to meet up sections of plastering at different stages. I'll be watching many more of your demonstrations from this point on. By the way, when you say to fill any holes, are you talking about undulating surfaces. Thanks Mac. Cheers.

What do you think about bedding mesh in the first coat. We starting doing it on old internal walls using bonding in the multi.
