Cleaning Mass Air Flow Sensor - Fix P0171 or P0174 - Range Rover Sport or LR3

Cleaning the mass air flow sensor may fix the typical cause of trouble codes P0171 or P0174. These codes mean the system is running too lean, typically because the mass air flow sensor is underestimating the amount of air delivered because it's dirty. A P0171 or P0174 can trigger a check engine light, but the fix for such a problem is actually very quick and easy, a good place to start is simply cleaning off the mass air flow sensor with specialy designed mass air flow sensor cleaner.

I have a "P2096-00 Post catalyst fuel trim system too lean - bank 1" code. Replaced the MAF sensor, cleaned the throttle body, replaced the air filter but the the code is still there. I might go for getting )2 up and downstream sensors replaced next. Anything else you can think of? Appreciate your videos.

Excellent video - thanks very much! I watched it because I’m getting some MAF and turbo error codes, but they only started after going through a car wash. Wondered if you’ve come across any points on the loom that are vulnerable to water ingress?

I’ve replaced the MAF with an OEM LR one correct part number. Still getting P0174. What do you suggest I look at next? I have a pcv valve in the mail so far…

2009renge rover sport v8, some times no crank no start, but, wen starts with no problem few minutes later ac turn off and the hazards lights start flashing, wen I put the ignition switch on and the ac work it means that the truck is going to start and to ad to the problem the radio never works, wen it starts the engine runs good, what this problem can be???

I took to the mechanic they told me it’s a my valve cover and I have a coolant leak yet I see no leak and my coolant tank level stay the same.. I just replaced my coolant tank revisor put new coolant in and it’s all good. I have a bad coolant sensor. I feel I am being scammed. Any advice? I really am trying to get by as it is.
