I turned 13 on Tuesday and am spending time in Michigan for my birthday. I always like to swim in Lake Michigan in Saugatuck and South Haven.

Most of the video clips are showing the Chicago, Illinois area, even when the audio mentions Michigan. Michigan has the most miles of beaches on Lake Michigan, and arguably more parks and natural areas along the lake. You should do another video highlighting what Michigan's West Coast has to offer!

I could almost hear the voice over the music. Anyways, another fun fact. Many stone artifacts in Lake Michigan seemed to have been used to help "heard" animals, meaning people were living on what became current day Great Lakes before they were filled with water.

Grew up swimming and fishing on Kenosha s lakefront. Most dangerous great lake to swim in but world class fishing and breathtaking sunrise.

FUN FACT #15: lakes Michigan and Huron are really one lake that are the same number of feet above sea level. There is no physical land barrier separating the two. Consequently, lake Michigan can no longer be considered the only great lake wholly within the US.

Number 14: Lake Michigan, and the other great lakes, were formed by glaciers that grew and receded several times during the last ice age. Stones found on the shores have traveled via these glaciers from as far away as the UP and Canada.

Don't swim in Lake Michigan. Apparently the rip tides are like ferris wheels that drag a swimmer under. The only ways to escape are swimming sideways out of the rip tide or letting it spit you out on the other side. This is according to the public service announcement
