That was terrible be glad you didn't hurt the Trans case. Use a forked wedge and apply even pressure don't just focus all that into one spot it's frigging aluminum

Yeah benz has a similar set up. Watched a few people break diffs the same way, slide pulled works. Hydraulics do too.

Most of the times is not that easy to remove the axle.

Dont pry between the transfer case housing and the axel. Look there's a lip on the axel. Use a mallet and a flat anything and just tap a few taps on that lip and poof it magically comes out without maring up anything.

Iv never needed a bar to remove. Just tug it out and shove new in. Quick like light work.

The axle is steel and transmission is aluminum. By using applying pressure with the crowbar, you can damage the aluminum on the transmission

I just pulled my cv axles and it was a bear. Maybe a small block of wood to give the pry bar more leverage would help. There’s a CV seal that should be replaced if it’s damaged (by the prybar) or old. Be patient.

Never that easy. Show how you remove one in the midwest that will not come out or brakes off inside

Mine is not popping out it’s loose, but do I need to put my car in neutral or do I need another person to help me like with the car being a neutral and press the break or can I leave it in park and then the only pry bar I got a fucking hammer and I’m stuck in the parking lot right now so if someone can help me really quick, I’ll be great

Mine pops out on its own. All the oil comes out. I just push it back in. The mechanics I've asked couldn't even just do that
I found out myself because I like the car that much

If it doesn't pop out turn the axel a little and try again. Repeat.

Quick fact trans oil only comes from the driver side axle, the passenger cv axle, in front wheel drive cars, don't leak trans fluid cause the main cv is your driverside
