These in-store discounter bakeries do not have the best reputation in Germany. What do you think, are they good or not?

The way you have to get the bakery goods out is actually really innovative. You dont have to worry about someone touching all of the baked goods

I worked in a discounter. The pastries arrive pre-baked and frozen and are baked to end in the shop over the whole day. You can even see that in some stores . You can also buy the frozen ones and then bake them at home. so good

Ihr müsst direkt um 7 Uhr in der Früh dorthin gehen und die Artikel kaufen. Die sind so frisch und sogar noch warm. Einfach am besten :D

I just want to say thank you both, I am pleased that I found your channel and after watching some of your videos it has influenced me to find a German source here in London, other than Aldi or Lidl, I am waiting for a delivery from German Deli Ltd of senf, curry ketchup, potato salad, bratties and some self bake bread rolls, plus other stuff. Obviously this is a trial order for me to sample the goods and the service. The only German place where I found authentic German cuisine before in London was at Herman ze German besides Charing Cross Station. I tried Oktoberfest near Earl's Court but was very disappointed by the Jagerschnitzel I had there. I was impressed by your video about Hanover Christmas market and I think I would like to visit at Christmas time. Although it has been a long time, Hanover is not unchartered territory for me as I was stationed at Hildesheim for 5 years in my army days.

My favorite is the Cheese ham croissant and the apple bag. I think Lidl has way better Bakery items as Aldi in my opinion. But i have to say the prices get higher and higher and some bakery items from Lidl are smaller than before the price changes which its a bit unfortunately. I dont life in a City so i prefer to go local bakeries. they are smaller and significantly more expensive in comparison, but the food tastes much better there
Hope you are doing well and greetings from Northern Germany (Lower Saxony) :)

Hello from Japan. I enjoy your video every time, and like both of you guys. In Japan we have something very similar to "Berliner" which is called "An-doughnut" An is red-bean paste and An is inside of Dough. This is very popular and you would probably find it every bakery shop in Japan.

There are LIDL stores where I live and while they may not be up to German Craft standards they are still better than any other store bakery in the US.

Well, I learned something about my house today...I thought the bread slicer in my kitchen was a meat slicer. It’s kinda broken and I can’t change the thickness it slices, but it’s nice to know what it’s actual purpose is. I live about 30 min north of Kaiserslautern and it’s really beautiful here.

Je heller das Gebäck, desto frischer muss es sein. Semmeln schmecken nur, wenn sie dampfend aus dem Ofen kommen. Schwarzbrot oder Pumpernickel kannst du auch nach einer Woche noch essen.

I am so happy Lidl is in America. Bakery is awesome. I love it and you can even get your bread sliced the way you want it. This is the best German bread I have had since I left Germany.

I think Lidl is better then some of the bakery chains and in some products even better than a normal bakery ( in my opinion they are not all good in everything) but no Bretzel compares to the ones from my local bakery. I tried frozen ones but all I tried are meh. I changed to freeze the fresh ones myself. After 15 mins at 150 degrees in the oven they are pretty near to the fresh ones.

I really like the Lidl bakery, and I also need to heat up the food every time before eating, it just tastes so much better!
I really enjoy your videos, Liebe Grüße aus Kroatien! :)

All those are made in big factories, frozen and shipped all over Europe. Then they take those from freezer to melt and then those are baked in the shop before putting for sale. Every shop chain does the same that have same kind of "fresh baked" pasteries and breads for sale.
