I bought one of these 3 stage snowblowers new from Canadian Tire in late 2016. (26" model) I wasn't told when I bought this 3-stage snow blower, that when used on a gravel driveway, it will occasionally throw a piece of gravel towards the windows. If some gravel gets dancing around in front of the machine, and if a piece gets in front of one of those 2 front tips of the middle auger, up and away it flies to the left of the machine. I added a custom hood out of scrap fish tub plastic, and have heard the gravel banging against it. There are impact nicks in the paint (and custom plastic hood extension) on the left side. I can't use drift cutters. I wish I could swap everything from the auger pulley ahead over to regular 2 stage. Otherwise nice snowblower.

Bravo Troy, your vortex snow thrower is much better than the Sears snow thrower I had back in the 70's Sears snow thrower kept getting snow frozen in it and I had to stop and remove ice to get it working again.

I have a 120' driveway and 2.5 car garage (don't know what to do with the other 1[2 of a car)  I do my snow using about 2 cups of gas, how dows this one do?

Good snowblower, but, auger drive cable spring is weak and prone to breakage, when it breaks the razor sharp edges get into auger drive belt and destroys it.

A 2 stage regular snowthrower also flops snow off to the side too as you move forward. This doesn't do it any worse than that. These snowthrowers really do work well. As for the guy who said to many electronics? Lol what electronics? The heated handles? Lol, everything else the makes the machines is cables, belts and disks... Completely mechanical and simple

If this isn't best example of Dilbert's marketing department, I dunno what is.

it's not a 3 stage, really just extending the 2nd stage in front of the auger. Looks a little dangerous for the average homeowner. My old craftsman was a true 3 stage with a chain driven primary auger above the main one to knock down the higher snow (above the height of the main auger.

After busting six (6) discharge bases caused by chunks of ice on my current snow thrower because bit is made of plastic, I've decided to buy a new machine. Unfortunately for you, Troy Bilt, you are just as guilty with your plastic and won't be getting any of my business

"With features like a paper thin sheet metal frame and one stage paint coating, your Troy-Bilt MTD blower will be sure to rust out like the hunk of crap it is."

"Troy-bilt snowblower first use in 4K" video proves the 3 Stage critics all wrong.

Are the tires, flat-free, never/ever (foam filled), if not, the manufacturer's(all brands Club, MTD) would do well to make it standard equipment, or at least make flat free tires easily(er) available!
Nothing more useless than (a completely, reliable snow blower) when it's needed most, one goes to clear away the snow and one, or both tires are flat, to quote from my favorite winter movie Planes, Train's & Automobiles, "Well sir your F**kt !"

I just looked at one, looks cheaply made, and too many electronics on it.  Can't wait to see how long until people complain about it all breaking.  Plus that ad looks like that snow is not the ice formations that I get at the end of my drive.  Let the neighbor buy one first, he buys and breaks even a bird feeder!

If this machine throws the wet heavy snow better than your two stage machines, than there is something really wrong with your two stage machines. That accelerator concept is a joke. It could never spin fast enough to get the snow in front if it back to the impeller. It actually holds snow back from getting to the impeller. If you take a two stage machine and just push it in to a snow bank, the snow will already be at the back of the augers and ready to hit the impeller. Just another gimmick.

So... the rear impeller and the front impeller are spinning at the same speed.... the rear impeller works because it's in a confined area and can only discharge out the chute. the front, not having any such restrictions, picks the snow up and using centrifugal forces, THROWS THE SNOW AWAY FROM THE AUGERS & REAR IMPELLER. Such a stupid, stupid system. The flashy-ness of the sales man completely won out over the reality of physics and decent engineering.
idiots. plain and simple.
