37th Edison Patent Awards Lockheed Martin (2016)

Lockheed Martin and inventors Valerie Underwood, Lillian Andres, and Travis Lenhart received an Edison Patent Award in the defense category for “Apparatus and method for executing equipment inspection requirements” (U.S. 8,436,767), a new testing apparatus that defines, tests and evaluates various fault paths associated with the components comprising the Aegis radar system installed on U.S. Navy ships. This invention accelerates the development and performance of the operational test system by generating tests directly from performance requirement specifications.
