The Air New Zealand SkyCouch is a game changer for long flights ✈️🛋️

16 hour flight? No problem! Book a SkyCouch ☁️🛋️ we tried out the Economy SkyCouch on @airnz for our direct flight from Auckland to New York City 🌏

We had a row to ourselves and each seat had a footrest that you could use to create a lay flat experience.

This was much cheaper than booking premium economy or business class for the two of us and I definitely got some sleep on the plane ✈️

So sad to leave this incredible country but very happy to be home!!

Air New Zealand stepping it up Delta or American would never do this or if they did they would charge $9, 000 or something else

In the 1980’s we would take Philippine airlines from L.A. to Manila . They had “Skybeds” upstairs. If you went First class ($2500) R/T, you got a regular first class seat on the left side of the front cabin (First class cabin) PLUS, A Full Size bunk bed up in the Upper Deck (747-200) If the beds were all taken, then you got a full first class seat that reclined flat! On the right hand side. In any case, you flew like a king! I had never seen anything so decadent in my life. Philippine airlines called these “sky beds” And they were 6 1/2 feet long and 4 feet wide with two seatbelts so you could sleep through the refueling stop in Hawaii. One hour before landing in Manila they would turn on the lights upstairs and assist you so you could go down and have your breakfast and prepare for landing. Those were the good old days! President Marcos was a corrupt dictator who ran that airline into the ground. It never made one cent profit while he was president but who cares we will never see anything like this again.
