Jack Smith requested to have the charges dismissed "without prejudice", meaning that the DOJ will be able to refile the charges in the future, undoubtedly after Trump leaves office. Hopefully, his lawyers will fight to have the charges dismissed "with prejudice", meaning that the charges cannot be refiled.
