How To Recode Variable In SPSS | SPSS Tutorials 5

Hii Friends,
This video will helo you to understand how can variable can transform into other variable. To do this process in SPSS following steps need to be performed:
1. Go to Transform menu
2. Select 'Recode into different variable'; a dialog box will appear
3. Firstly, give name and label (if you wish to) to new variable
4. Then press 'Old value' button; one more dialog box will appear
5. From left side list select value and type old value and at the right side type new value (coding) and then add
6. Perform step 5 for your desired recoding for categories in existing variable
7. Press Continue and then ok
8. SPSS output window will give you message that recoding is done

This way one can easily recode one variable into other.
