Laura and Stephanie Flanders are sisters with different points of view but a common fascination with economics. Tune in to this episode where they ponder the power of big money, the threat of a global trade war, and the reality of falling birth rates. Stephanie Flanders is the head of Economics and Government at Bloomberg and host of the podcast Stephanomics. For the many, not the few, is a fairer economy a pipe dream? Plus a commentary from Laura on lives, labor, and limits.

". . . That Citizens United decision has transformed the power of money in political debate . . . You do get to the point where you think, if we're becoming a sort of plutocracy or if the US is moving further down that road, how easy is that going to be to unwind?" - Stephanie Flanders

I admire Laura and watch her regularly but i can't help but notice at not getting to the crux of the issue, private ownership of the means of production. All these talks about about economics and mutual aid is just fantasy soft capitalism with some regulations and i think it will just not work because of the nature of capitalism
