Arsenal can play multiple ways. That’s the difference.

Waiting for the video about Chelsea’s win against Brighton. Or are you not going to make one as they won?

Arsenal can be Athletico Madrid or Barcelona at the same time.

As an Arsenal fan of 20+ years, I couldn't care less how we do it. I just want to win. But let's be clear, defending for 45 mins with 10 men to protect a lead away at the best team in the world, is not like Mourinho's Chelsea coming to fifth-place Arsenal and playing for a nil-nil with 11 men. Equating the two removes all context, which is also what the pundits giving Arsenal no credit have been doing.

The difference is Mourinho didn’t play with 10 men every week… how can an ultra adaptive decision to defend with your life against your biggest rivals with a man down be scrutinised as “dark arts”

People just love to hate Arsenal.

Except Arsenal played defensively with 10 men, Jose's Chelsea used to play defensively with 11 men.

Chelsea's defensive tactics, especially when fielding a full squad, often seemed lackluster and uninspiring. In contrast, Arsenal typically reserved their defensive approach for situations of numerical disadvantage or when facing exceptionally strong opponents. This comparison is like comparing apples and oranges, Rory. Arsenal's reputation for playing attractive football is well-established, and the occasional defensive strategy does not negate this. Cherry-picking exceptions and presenting them as the norm is a false equivalence

The second half when Arsenal were defending I thought of Mourniho and his parking of the bus he would be proud watching this.

Rory has spoken about Chelsea results once this season. That was against city. This guy supports Arsenal . He twerks for them

On this one Rory you are right. I was often frustrated by the lack of pragmatism from Wenger. Man U and Chelsea would come and play simple counter attack football over and over again knowing Wenger was stuck in his ways. They'd take 3 points regardless of their form.

I am an Arsenal fan who lived through that period and I have to admit in retrospect Mourinho had every right to set up his team as he saw fit. Also, Arsene, even though was a great coach when it came to creating a playing style and identity, he seemed to lack a plan B when he came up against an opponent that was tactically astute.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal is nothing like Mourinho's Chelsea. People focus on the last five games where we had two red cards for 90+ minutes against great opposition and say we play defensively, but this could not be less true. Last season, Arsenal had, without a doubt, the greatest defense in the league—maybe the world—and yet had the most goals scored in the club's history. If you watch Arteta's press conference after the game, he says, "we could not play the way we wanted because we were down to 10 men" and "this league deserves exciting football." Arteta clearly is not one for just possession or defensively solid football; that's a byproduct of his great management. His explicit goal is to "dominate teams" and "make teams suffer, " and that's why you saw the last six months of last season where we beat almost every team we faces by 5

It's not one or the other Rory, Mikel has gone beyond a single style of football.

They are neither Mourinho nor Guardiola in playing style. Mikel with his personnel acquisitions and his own footballing philosophy, has created a team that can adapt and play any style of football. And they and Arteta adapted against Spurs and City, as the game states change, as personnel availability changes.

Mikel is always talking about adaptability, and this is what he has are neither one nor the other, they are all of the different styles rolled into

The mistake is people comparing Arteta to other managers. We can see he got his ideologies from the managers he's worked under, Wenger, David Moyes and Pep Guardiola but how he plays is revolutionary. His want to play every style of football, he wants dominance in every part of the pitch. He wants physical, technical, quick players. He's unique and I think the biggest mistake was people comparing him to Pep Guardiola because he's nothing like Pep

Great video, although I would disagree about Arsenal being only a defensive team. They can also be expansive at times and score quite a lot of goals. Arteta has built a very versatile team that can adapt to various styles of play depending on the opposition.

Another Chelsea win, another day of radio silence from Rory. Pathetic.
