Would you vist Aceh? Stepping out of my comfort zone as much as possible this year, and would love if you subscribed to the channel. Thanks so much for your support, and I'll see you in the next one 😁

Moral code? It it TAKES TWO WOMEN against One man if she is r8prd or beaten by him. She is not able to say anything unless another woman is witness to it. ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC LAW.

Before tsunami, many christians were not allowed to celebrate christmas in cities. Many christians felt sad n walked to the hills to celebrate christmas. When Tsunami hit aceh on 26 dec, many christians were safe

10:20 I wouldn't be so sure he's being nice asking if you have baby or are married. It is illegal for unmarried couples to stay together in Aceh. The punishment is public flogging and jail. You need to be more careful about the answers you give out.

It's so rude to force "non-believers" to participate in your religious rituals...

I'm non muslim Indonesian. when I had plans to go on holiday to Aceh, all my friends said, why does it have to be Aceh, blah blah blah. I finally went there bravely, until the end was very surprising, the people there were very friendly even though I was a non-Muslim, they were aware of tourism, there were no scams like most tourist areas, and of course Aceh was very beautiful. Aceh Singkil, Sabang, Gayo, Takengon. I love Aceh, I love Indonesia ❤

Thank you for coming to our place... at 20:55 you must have been surprised by the way the woman shook hands... but that's the polite way we respect our elders...

I live in a Muslim country and during Ramadan there are stores/ shops open to buy food and some restaurants open as well. Plus, in Islam you fast if you are able to but if you are sick, pregnant, postpartum, on your period, a child before puberty, or any sickness then you are exempt from fasting.

It's even frowned upon to ask someone why they aren't fasting because that's between them and Allah why they aren't fasting.

What they are labeling as Sharia Law is actually their cultural beliefs mixed into Islamic beliefs.

I have found in my travels that if you are friendly and nice to people you will meet friendly, nice people. Your joyful nature makes the people you meet happy to see you. Job well done both of you, love the video!

Josie, you're a polite, nice, and warm person. Of course people around you will vibe the same with you, welcoming you with warm open hands. Indonesians always appreciate respectful people, be it local or international. Thank you for visiting Indonesia, especially Aceh. And thank you for your kind message at the end of the video, very sweet of you indeed. I hope you enjoyed your stay in our country. 🥰

Politicians and media are other creatures. This is what differentiates us from them, we still live in harmony without seeing those differences. Humans remain human.

Love from Manokwari, West Papua. ❤

There are rules as to how a muslim is to greet a non muslim as prescribed, this makes me a little uncomfortable

Sumatran Coffee is the most well known coffee from Indonesia in the western world, however it's not the "Best" we have, it's the quirkiest.
due to the natural processing it often described to be heavy, woody, and earthy. and the coffee you get from the traditional sellers would't be the best example to enjoy it just because "it would not be palatable for westerners". and it's not just sumatra, across Indonesia traditionally we don't enjoy coffee with all the modern coffee fuss. we roasted the beans almost to a charcoal, and we adds sugar (in jogja, people literally add wood charcoal lol).
anyway, if you wanna experience all the subtlety of Indonesian coffess, try modern or upscale coffee places. and try beans below
- washed/semi washed(just for fun) Aceh gayo
- washed Bali Kintamani
- washed Kerinci
- washed Ijen
- washed Wamena

to the extreme: Natural/honey/black honey Aceh Gayo
