So good to see you building up your reference library. Old catalogues are great value for money and whilst the web is a great resource, catalogues have much more detailed information.

Richard, what a great episode! I love Newfoundland stamps as well, but as you pointed out, they can get extremely expensive!! As a Canadian, allow me to correct your pronunciation of Labrador. It is pronounced la-bra-DOOR, with the emphasis on the last syllable. Hope you don't mind the correction. Cheers!

Most excellent video Richard! I'm from Canada (not Newfoundland but Quebec) and collect Canadian stamps. I have yet to dive into early Newfoundland stamps, so this is a great video to get me started.

I always enjoy finding a Newfoundland stamp in a mix - it's interesting that they took so long to join the Canadian confederation. Old catalogs are a wonderful value - prices for catalogs have gotten crazy expensive.

Loved this video! I really love the Newfoundland stamps and have several in my collection too! Your little red catalog is so cool! I love the iconic bust of Queen Victoria 😍

A very enriching episode to say the least. Your efforts with research even has a God-sent kind dealer. How rewarding that could be even if it is a 2013 catalogue, and with the purpose solely for research of dead countries, nothing beats it. I really love the dog stamps. I recently evinced interest in collecting stamps on dogs, as also cats. Until your next episode, stay cheerful.
Best wishes from the coastal State of Goa, in India.

Hi Richard, interesting video about Newfoundland and its relationship with Canada and UK over the years related to postage stamps. Another interesting fact is about St. Pierre and Miquelon. Part of France and it has a long history. It seems isolated. It is not part of Canada or the USA. France is very far away.

Labrador is pronounced La as in singing the syllable la, bra as in the beginning of brother, dor as a long o in the word door. Yes English pronunciation doesn't make sense.
