Fighter pilot does 9G - crazy qualification run to fly the Gripen!

This is the video of my 9G requalification run to be able to fly the JAS 39 Gripen C in the Swedish Air Force.

We have a facility in San Antonio, Texas, where Air Force, Navy, and even Astronaut pilots train. Sustain over 2, 000 lbs(pounds) force over a human body is brutal and not healthy, but sometimes it’s necessary. Great video demonstration, thanks ! Cheers from Houston, Texas 🍺

Sjukt imponerande. Som privatflygare med begränsad erfarenhet av avancerad flygning har jag som mest upplevt 4-4.5 G under korta stunder och det var brutalt nog vill jag mena. Hade inte velat utsätta mig för detta!

Very, very impressive (and this is coming from a Dane - we rarely applaud Swedes). Seeing your face change shape like that was just painful to watch. Also, I had no idea that the G-simulator accelerated THAT quickly. Going by my stopwatch, it took the machine just about 3 seconds to go from idle to 9 G - that's a top speed of approx. 950 km/h. Crazy...

Isnt "Grip" the swedish word for "Griffin" , the lion/bird creature?
And adding -en or -et is swedish way of adding "THE" before a noun.
So "Gripen" already means "The Griffin" (if the name Gripen in this case is in fact the swedish translation of "The Griffin"), so it doesnt make sense to call it "The Gripen".
