Day 9 — The Immutability of God

Day #9 of our 23 Days with God is on The Immutability of God. Pastor Sterling Moore who is our Mill Creek campus pastor leads the reflection for today.

When we live in a world where things are always changing around us, it is hard to imagine anything that does not change and will never change no matter what. This is God's Immutability, as we've said before in this series, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 

It can be particularly challenging to understand that we can't do anything to change how God feels about us. We tend to think this way. That we could obey or disobey Him to the degree that we will change His goodness or reach the limits of His grace, but that is impossible. Take time today to reflect on the characteristics of God that you might be tempted to think you could change. It might just be a word or it could be a list. Whatever is there, cross it out and write the word "UNCHANGING" on top.

In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
    and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain;
    they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing, you will change them
    and they will be discarded.
But you remain the same,
    and your years will never end.
