This is what a NASCAR race car should be. Let the manufacturers design the car, make the car fit the street car templates, and may the best car win. That's what made the racing so much better back then. No splitters, no aerodynamic gimmicks, no common template bodies, just good racing. I understand the need for safety improvements, and applaud NASCAR for making them, but those advancements in safety can still be utilized in a car that is the same as it's street counterpart. NASCAR is dead unless they realize this and return to their roots. Every car doesn't need to be the same. If one brand is better on superspeedways, so be it. If another is better on intermediates, so be it. let the manufacturers work harder to overcome their disadvantages, and let the driver's talent decide the races.
