Awesome intro to a 1.Nf3 repertoire! Thanks Arturs. You mentioned doing a boot camp on the King's Indian Attack. Would love to see that! :)

So I took a little lesson from this and applied it to KID. It was the "Play h3 early" notion. I played it early when my opponent had an annoying bishop coming for my fianchetto bishop on g7. I played h6 early and they caved. Wound up with over 92% accuracy, which is remarkable for me. Thank you.

quickly want to mention there are incredible variations for black after 1.Nf3, d5 2. c4, d4 3. b4, g5 which is incredibly agressive for black, locks the white pieces on the queenside, gives dominance in the centre for black and gives great attacking options. it’s also equal according to the engine. anyone who plays the reti definitely wants to be prepared for this line or they will instantly get into a worse position

Love this guy and love this opening! I had a lot of fun seeing you commentate on Rapport vs Nakamura the other day Arturs. Have a nice day! :)

I like Reti and Alekhine. I prefer variant 1. Nf3 d5 2. c4 ... though. One fun thing about Alekhine is when opponent premove something and immediately blunder a pawn on e4.

Thx for sharing this ! I play Reti with c4 but this way of playing is so interesting . Anyway I do not think Black has so many problems at 15:59 because this is a Tarrasch defense classical position which is very dynamic and playable at any level below IM for black

As someone who has tried most opening moves (1: c4, e4, d4, b4, d3, g3, b3) I’ve always wanted to see what playing with a knight out first and I’m already hooked

I have suffered kingside attacks with Reti. If we allow the black h pawn to March or allow qh4 … it is difficult with reti.

Although I started with the Pirc as Black, I always hate the Jobava London and its Barry attack when I equip myself with more theory of 1.d4 Nf6 2...g6. But with the extra tempo, once White carry his Grünfeld or Benoni pawn break it gets advantageous for white

…Nd7 followed by Nb6 is my repertoire (course in Chessable by Alex Colovic, Chebanenko).

Just btw the reti opening occures after 1.Nf3, d5 and 2.c4! (not the line with 2.g3)

People in the chat distract quite a lot from the explanation!
