Under Eye Wrinkles

I’m sure there are lots of makeup hacks and moisturizer and primer techniques to help diminish the appearance of the fine lines — leave a comment with any favorite tips!

In terms of building smoother skin, you want to make sure that you’re hydrating and properly restoring the natural skin barrier at the epidermal layer. Dry, dehydrated skin can definitely accentuate the look of fine lines and wrinkles. I also recommend doing things that can build collagen in the dermal layer to maintain the integrity of the skin. I am a fan of eye creams because there are some collagen building ingredients that might be too strong for the eye area, so finding something formulated for the eye area is safer. But I think eye cream alone many times may not be sufficient, and that is where procedures can play a role.

I've been using retinol around my eyes and it gave me nothing but more wrinkles

My undereyes were doing this before I started using the clarins total eye lift and doing extra hydrating under my eyes at night …I also learned that at 43 you can’t bake under the eyes! Tiniest bit of powder and it matters which powder ! Huda and Pat McGrath under eye powder are all that worked for me

I’m 30 now. I’m not really into makeup but I love skincare. Tretinoin, vitamin C, and salicylic acid are my holy trinity for the face. I didn’t really do it right the first time I used these things, but now that I am, it’s a game changer. Tretinoin at night. I use both salicylic acid and vitamin c in the morning, but not right after each other. I use salicylic acid first after my toner and let that absorb for about a minute or two. Then, I apply another layer of toner, and an essence usually. After that, I put on the vitamin c and I have this very light niacinamide cream that’s only 2% because I just want to calm and soothe my skin after the vitamin c. Moisturizer, and spf as my last steps. The most important part is to hydrate your body as well. Your skin might be hydrated, but drinking water helps your cells to work more. Don’t slug your under eye if you’re sensitive with milia though. Ask your dermatologist what you should use for your under eye or face if you suffer from milia. But my doctor recommended salicylic acid and tretinoin for me for my milia. It was a long while until my milia were gone but 6 months to a year sounded about right. 😅

To the people that think that's retinol who made them had more wrinkles or fines lines I really believe that you weren't hydrating enough

Retinol dries up the skin BUT you might need to "cycle" your routine. Like, night #1- cleanse+use retinol. night #2-cleanse+vit C +deep moisturize. Night #3-(same as #2). Night #4- cleanse+exfoliate w/glycolic acid (like loreal 3.5% glycolic acid cleansing gel) then serum+ moisturize.
THIS has worked for me without overdrying with retinol. Gives skin time to renew/rest en between retinol dryness 💯.

Leave that under eye alone and be extremely gentle with it. No pulling, no scrubbing, no tugging. Yes, leave it alone. Use a reliable effective gentlest eye cream. Just tap tap tap. And avoid the sun. Eat less sugar. Also, i wash my eye area not as soon as i step in the shower. I do wash my face but i avoid the eye area first. Then just before i step out of the shower, that's when i would use my face cleanser around my eyes, twice to make sure its cleansed well. just so it doesn't get too dry and i dont rub overcleanse that area. That's it.

Vaseline nightly
And even better addd Saran Wrap on top of it for like 20 mins. Remove and you’ll see how it creates even more moisture.

Doc, I am 27 and I have noticed in the past 6 months that I have developed sunken eyes! Like with horizontal line… I am terrified.
Please guve me some recommendations, a gentle retinoid developed for the eye area and a peptide serum- cream or supplements? And do I have to use vitamin c under my eyes? Isn’t there any other anti oxidants? Do you recommend anything from the ordinary, paula’s choice or geek and gorgeous?
The derms in my country are so behind in all of this, all they know is filler and RF microneedling, they terrify me. Please save me!

I am suffering from severe dry eyes symptoms after applying tretinoin 0.05% cream on my undereye area and also wrinkles are formed on that same area even after applying a good amount of moisturiser after tretinoin.

Try slugging this area. I have super crusty under-eyes and using Vaseline over a really hydrating eye cream is the only way I can get some control over it. If you set your concealer with powder, go much lighter or try not setting it with powder at all for a while. Most concealers are self-setting and don’t need a powder to set. To prevent it from creasing, don’t take your concealer up too high, just keep it right on the dark circles or in the tear-troughs.

I recently got this as I was constantly rubbing my eyes due to over use of laptop & mobile I got dry eyes 😢 trying to improve my sleeping habits & using good skincare. Skin related issues do take lot of time to show results.

My skin is jacked. Trust me without filters it's bad. I'm going to try TCA, peel after peel after peel. I have the strongest prescription retinol you can get in gel form and it seems to be doing the opposite. 🤷‍♂️

I just purchased the dermatologica awaken peptide eyegel and I really truly hope this works because it wasn't cheap.

Hydrating has helped a lot, but unfortunately stress and a dry climate can cancel out a lot of it. Where is the line between hydrating enough to counter these things and over-moisturizing to where it can cause problems?

It’s called ageing. No products can turn back time. No products can restore regular levels of collagen. They can increase it a bit but you will still wrinkle you will still age .

Best thing to do is good skincare, drink lots of water, , healthy diet, exercise . And be happy ageing is another part of life accept it !
