Since I feel that they didn't give any legitimate reasons for hating tick, here are some of the reasons I reckon some players might have:
1. Insane range, his attacks are spread out in such a way where you basically can't miss a shot if you aim right.
2. He is a lobber, insert the classic "oh he kites around a wall and I can't hit him"
3. His "well oiled" star power, any damage you deal to him seems to be instantly healed back without consequence
4. His second gadget (don't remember the name), for some reason a lobber supposedly weak to assassins has a anti assassin move
5. Even though he has such a low reload speed, the duration of the mines makes it seem like he always has an attack up.
Objectively speaking tick is pretty balanced, however similar to Brock (the explosive range on the rocket), he is still hated on.
