Thanks for this. I just paid the dealership $140 to diagnose this exact issue before seeing this video. They want $500 for a passenger airbag presence monitor & $550 to put it in! OUCH. I'll be taking your DIY advice here, 100%. Thank you very much.

Mine has been going off for almost a year now. Has nothing to do with the passenger seat being damp. I live in california where it almost never rains. And we do not leave the windows open at night for moisture to get in.

This is probably happening to my 2017 Volt as well. TY for this.

That eventually fixed after I undid the battery cables, disconnected (and reconnected) the yellow connector under the seat and also mashed the menu button. I drove it around and it seems that it won't be coming back on now.

Yes my passenger seat was wet when I checked it. I will try to dry it out and hopefully that will solve my problem. Thanks!

I have 3 Chevy Volts. I found out that puling a part the harnesses connections for the Airbags under both the driver side and the passenger side, spraying both side with Blaster brand Lithium & Silicone mixture (Walmart) then putting the connectors back together, almost fixes the Airbag warning problems. Those harnesses are very difficult to take a part (3 under the driver side and 3 under the passenger side). Can you make a YouTube video showing how to take those harnesses a part without damaging them?

Thank you! I just checked my passenger seat and it is in fact wet. I put my car in the sun, hopefully, tomorrow the airbag light is gone.
