This is the dramatic moment when British Storm Shadow cruise missiles fired by the Ukrainian military slammed into the sprawling headquarters of Russia's Black Sea Fleet in #Sevastopol in Russian-occupied Crimean Friday morning.
The strike targeted "a meeting of the Russian Navy's leadership,” resulting in the deaths of nine people and injuring more than a dozen, according to initial reports.

"Among the wounded is the commander of the group, Colonel-General [Oleksandr] Romanchuk, in very serious condition. The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General [Oleg] Tsekov, is unconscious. The number of casual military servicemen who are not employees of the headquarters is still being determined," Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov was quoted saying.
"The details of the attack will be revealed as soon as possible, and the result is dozens of dead and wounded occupants, including senior fleet commanders," the Ukrainian military said today.

Crimea is key to supporting Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Sevastopol, the Black Sea Fleet’s main base of operations since the 19th century, has had special importance for Russian navy operations since the start of the war.
