There are snakes 🐍 everywhere Devil Dog. Not only in the Marines, but in the civilian world, especially in Corporate America. Moving fwd, identify these snakes ASAP, and always Pick and Choose your battles. One thing USMC taught me was to take care of my brothers and sisters. I’ve brought that mindset thereafter out into the corporate world. In this lifetime, please continue to look out for those that you can trust when it comes time to picking and choosing your battles. Semper Fi bro.

I was a Marine from 1979 to 1999.  Reached the rank of Gunnery Sgt. before being selected for WO.  Retired as a CWO3.   I've been in the civilian corporate world since 2000. If you think by leaving the Corps you will leave behind dishonest, self serving, back stabbing individuals...you ain't seen nothing yet.   Civilian corporate world is 10 times worse than anything you dealt with as a Marine.

Looks like you were a fine Marine. Good luck to you. Too bad it's like that, all the silly games, back stabbing, etc. is such a waste of time. Having a satisfying career shouldn't be so full of BS!

As a former Marine Corps Harrier pilot, I just recently finished my PhD in industrial and organizational psychology. My dissertation revolved around job expectations, job satisfaction and retention (or lack there of) of USMC fixed-wing pilots. I love the Corps and this was one way of giving back but, I don’t think they like my conclusions.

Big facts man. Loved the Corps, thankful I got to meet some of the leaders I did, but definitely glad to be done. The peace of mind, repair to my body and ability to finally start on the path I really should be on is amazing. I'm glad my last 1 1/2years I got to experience good leadership but the bad just strengthened my resolve in knowing I am meant for more

I leave for bootcamp in 4 days. 😁 Thank you for the honest video. I think it's important for young people to see that there is bad parts to everything. A lot of the other future marines at my recruiting office think their experienve is going to be sunshine and rainbows all the way to the end. It's just not realistic, and the marine corps is not for everyone. However, I am looking forward to the experience. The good and the bad because there's lessons to be learned from both. 🙏

growing up i’ve always felt like the military was my calling, ive always wanted to out there on the field, doing bad ass shit, you know “killing bad guys”, but i’ve seen videos likes yours that are similar to what your saying and i don’t know, maybe the military is not my calling, but i’ve had my mindset on the military since a kid and i don’t know what other options are available to me anymore, i feel like the military is my only option at this point... It’s like i’m stuck in this decision making world, what’s my next step? continue to work at walmart for the rest of my life because i can’t find something else to fulfill my passion? hopefully it’ll come to me, but i just wanted to say thank you for this video, really opened my eyes to what it really is..

Love your attitude man, it seems to me that while in the Corps you were a great leader. I had the misfortune also of working around some marines above my paygrade that were unbecoming but I preserved on after becoming an SNCO there were no stopping me from my career goal of retiring. USMC Retired 73 - 93 Old Corps.

I’m going to bootcamp in a month. As a Poolee as of 12/14/2019 will say that the younger generation needs to know these sides of truth and define what a Marine should be. I’m going in to fulfill a promise to a former friend. Going in to become a Marine to show him I’m not a brother to break a promise. I’m going in to repay the kindness to have me when I was doing bad in school. If I can become that Marine that’s all I’m content with. I can always go back to school and earn my masters.

I have nothing but respect for the Marines...glad that we have men and women who loves to fight...carrying the battle to enemy...USMC owns the battle, US Army owns the land, US Navy owns the sea, USCG owns America coasts, and the US Air Force owns the air... it's all good..Retired USAF MSgt...24 years.

I went through the same thing man. Even prior to my surgeries and me getting medically separated. Working at an I&I unit it and working with the reservist counterparts, even stationed in Okinawa. It’s really like that. I’ve gotten close to the edge so many times, that’s why lately I’ve decided to transfer my energy to health and body. I’m happy for you man. And wish you nothing but success. I swear I had been subscribed to your channel. But I just subscribed

89-93 3rd Bn 9th Marines, 2nd Bn 9th Marines, 2nd Bn 5th Marines. Task Force Papa Bear. Gulf War. The best decision I ever made. I used my GI bill after the Corps, I have Veteran dental health and compensation. Now I'm living in Cancun paradise while all my old friends are still working like slaves
