Manual shift vehicles are so much more fun to drive than an automatic and I feel like I have better control of my vehicle!! To anyone learning, it's important to listen to your motor. You will know when to shift just by listening to it and learning to hear when it's time. You can also rely on your RPM gauge if you need a little help. Every car is a little different so if you stall out at first, don't get discouraged and think you can't do it!! You got this!!! This video gives excellent instructions too!! Seriously, it's all about timing and listening and once you figure it out, it's easy. You can absolutely learn in a short amount of time. I never like leaving my car in gear for some reason and always park it in neutral.

Hardest part that people seem to have is just depressing the clutch and giving it gas. Other than that. Driving manual is no means better than auto. Its just you can literally drive anything if you can manual. Youll also survive a horror movie since most getaway cars are manual

I learned to drive manual in my grandpas 1968 F100 a beautiful powerful farm truck. Still drive it to this day

Manual is so much more fun than automatic. I learned to drive automatic in the US but then I learned manual in England. It's a shame they are not popular here in America & less & less people will know how to drive them in the future. You can't even rent a manual car in the U.S. which is mind-boggling but understandable because too many people would damage the cars.

my brother has been teaching me on his 2020 civic si since our '98 civic is down rn. As i was shifting i was going to shift from 5th to 6th but ended up going to 4th gear. We are getting the 98 fixed now so I will practice moving through the gears before I drive. Thank you

The e-brake making driving manuals easier (at least for me and a few people i’ve spoken to) hopefully reintroduces a lot more manuals on our roads.

When starting from first, trying to finesse the clutch and gas and the same time is a very hard way to learn for beginners and will result in unnecessary stalling. Instead, set your throttle to about 1500 and keep it there, then release the clutch to the engagement point, then slowly release it all the way. Once you've fully rolled away, then you can give it more gas.

I'm just watching this for fun. Lol. I just got a new car today that's a manual transmission. 2018 Honda Civic LX Coupe. I drove the car almost all day today. Such a fun car to drive. Beyond proud that I got it. I love it. I learned how to drive a standard on my dad and stepmom's old Subaru Impreza. That was a fun car to drive as well. Glad I got my own car now though that's a standard as both of their cars are automatic and my old car is automatic. Lol. If you want to have fun while driving, drive a standard. I won't ever go back to automatic.
