I love Encinal Market! I go there from Bayfarm because our Safeway sucks. They have a lot of good quality products and they even bbq on the weekend. Sadly you will need a lot of $$$ to live in that particular area.

My family owned 3226 Central Avenue from 1945 until my mother passed on in 2009. Right next to Lincoln Park between High Street and Fernside Boulevard. I was born there in 1952 and graduated Alameda High School in 1970. Truckee Ca. has been my home since 1974. Fond memories of growing up on the East end.

Great information and thanks for sharing the tip on the mail box there. Post offices mail boxes were full for days with Holiday cards and I was driving around trying to find a mail box. Long time Alameda resident

I grew up very close to there and in 1972 moved to Bay Farm Island. From 1980 to 1982, I lived right on that corner in an apartment above the liquor store that was there back then. A great neighborhood!

The area he's talking about is where my Grandfathers home was across from the Porter school area, it was torn down to build other homes. Alameda High School is very close.
