Is there a reason why you highlighted investment options like startup business, LLC ownership and real estate for an IRA - but completely omitted even a hint at the extremely high taxes due on profits from those investments ESPECIALLY when held in an IRA? Thinking of UBIT (Unrelated Business Income Tax) and UDFIT (Unrelated Debt-Financed Income Tax), which both apply *only* to entities which otherwise are tax-exempt - such as IRAs...
I would assume that your suggested team (Custodian and CPA) are prepared to deal with that - so might as well point out the problems and let us know the broad strokes of how you get around the taxes...
