Algebra 2 Lesson #22 Vertical Line Test for Functions

In this lesson, we will learn how to graphically determine if a relation is a function. This test is known as the vertical line test and states that if any vertical line intersects the graph of a relation at more than one point, the relation is not a function. This is due to the fact that the same x-value is associated with more than one y-value.
