Celeste - Confronting Myself Cover by Lacey Johnson

Hey Everybody! I'm back with one of my favorite covers this year. Back in the summer, I was asked by Gamegrooves to participate in the creation of the album "Her Theme" which was to be a tribute to female video game composers performed by female musicians to benefit Girls Make Games: a series of summer camps, workshops and game jams designed to inspire the next generation of designers, creators, and engineers.

Naturally, I was inspired by a composer that I really admire, Lena Raine. Lena's writing for keyboards in Celeste is nothing short of spectacular and I had an amazing time arranging this cover of "Confronting Myself".
(I did climb an actual mountain for this btw lol)

Man, this game unlocked many feelings within me, with this song coming from no doubt one of the most powerful moments within it.

Oh man I was looking so hard for covers of this a few months back and this never came up in my search, screw you algorithm. You played great and I really loved what you did for the video, super cool idea for it.

I do gotta be real though, the glitched out sections that mess around with delays is my favourite part of this track (can you tell I'm into breakcore? lol), was disappointed not to see ya give it a shot. Though I can also imagine time would be an issue on that, it sounds like something that would take a lot to work that out and get it right besides between both audio and video.

Still a really good cover of it.

I have only good memories of this game, no matter how hard can it get, I knew I could do it, and the same is for everyone. The message in the story and the music are beautiful. The cover is 10/10!!!
