Restoring Our Beautiful Pine Floors

Here's the video of our floors getting refinished, the fellas start by giving them a coarse sanding, then a finer sanding followed up by 3 coats of polyurethane. They certainly are not new floors but that's what makes them special. they have the history of this house written right into their grain. We are both very happy with the way they turned out and enjoy them every day. Thanks for joining us by watching the video and for supporting us on our journey.

These floors go very well with the style of furniture you create.
I took a different approach when I refinished the gnarly old floors in my 1840's house; I applied a very dark brown stain - about the color of dark chocolate, topcoated with a heavy-bodied, clear poly. The stain gave a consistent tone to everything, but it did something else as well. It made them recede, thereby giving the rooms a slightly larger feel. I'm quite pleased with how they came out, and have gotten lots of compliments on them.

Came out awesome. It pays to hire the pros, like you said, they have the equipment and knowhow. I learned that the hard way. Now you have a new house with your uhmmmm you're wife's finger print on it. Really a nice job.

Very logical choice in hiring a team with all the equipment . I have sanded many floors over the years, making a living at it and I still have the drum sander, the edger and etc. in my shop, sometimes I bit off more than I should have but slowing down some after turning 70 years old. All that dust isn't healthy but still doing shop wood working. Thanks for your interesting channel.

I’m so sad this is the last video of your actual house. I wish you had done something where you at least showed your progress. I understand not doing it with your personal stuff in it, but something before you had moved in completely. Anyway loved seeing the floors. They looked so good after they were finished.
