Iran vs. Saudi Arabia
There is a historic rivalry between these dominating
titans, each claiming leadership of their unique strain
of Islam: Shia and Sunni. Also embedded in their
populations are rival ethnic identities, Persians in Iran
and Arabs in Saudi Arabia. We will examine within each
society why conflict often seems inevitable. We will
provide up-to-date analysis of each country’s relationship
with Israel, the United States, and China. Additionally we
will view how the current Israel–Hamas war affects these
dynamics.
