This should be a top 5 golf swing drill/tip on all of youtube. No expensive aid, just a certain diameter rope anyone can buy at the hardware store. I also gained close to 10yards on my 60 degree wedge after watching Dr Kwon on Be Better Golf, because I was so prone to opening early on the downswing and/or pulling my arms. I am a single digit hdcp and I am confident I can get to scratch simply from watching less than 30 min of Dr Kwon. I now know why my misses are pulls or hooks and it’s easy to fix

Thank you Dr. Kwon for posting. I know it adds to your work load and probably is more of a service. You are truly spreading knowledge. I have been using a rope without being knowledgeable for some time but now I see that there are indeed checkpoints to provide feedback.

I have been using the step one and step two drill for a couple of years before even hearing about you. Now that I have been able to study your videos and those of Brendon I realize I was doing it quite incorrectly. Still I believe it was helpful in improving pressure transfer. Hopefully I can clean it up a bit but I think instruction might be needed.

This was a little too long but I really want you to know how valuable this data is to those of us who have been swinging inefficiently for years.

This is gold. Thank you so much Dr.Kwon. I purchased a rope today for $8 from home Depot . I have 2 kids who have been playing Junior golf and taking lessons for years. I noticed in 1 session already better lower body awareness by doing this rope drill. Simple but invaluable information. God bless you 🙏🏽

thanks you Dr. Kwon. the drill is not new but the details and cross check you mentioned are what make it actionable to me. for the first time i know how to determine if my swinging is correct or not.

My best success comes when I completely leave the hands and arms out of the swing and only use shoulder rotation. This rope method has really taught me to load the shaft ie: start the downswing while the rope is just about to come to the end of its backswing travel.
If you can learn to load the shaft, your game will go to a serious new level.
Btw, even the putter shaft should be loaded. That's the best way to control distance.

Thank you Dr. Kwon. I am grateful for your knowledge. I'd be interested in your expertise on the differences in biomechanics of a female vs. male golf swing if there are any. Given women tend to have wider hips, generally shorter and less musculature I would think our mechanics might vary. (I think of the chair challenge which few men can accomplish but women do so easily). And if there are differences would love a video addressing women's swings. Most training content address men primarily. Thank you.

Hi Dr Kwon.
I love all your instruction. I am also using thge rope quite often. You also have instruction with a driver, I have a Orangewhip which has a very flexible shaft which gives you an in between feeling of the rope and the shaft. It helps in doing the trickermotion and the step drills with a continous motion. Perhaps you can do a video about it.🙂😊

I recently started swinging a rolled up towel and it is amazing how much it works as a training and feel aid. Agree the key is to coordinate the body movement from the ground up. Feeling a pull starting down is an amazing feeling that directly translates to a real club.
