If you've enjoyed our video series exploring the hundred-year prop history of The Earl Hays Press, consider supporting the makers there by checking out their prop shop where they're making available perfect recreations of the iconic printed props they originally created for films like Back to the Future, Blade Runner, and Beetlejuice! These replicas were created using the original source files, plates, and in some cases the original printings first made for those films--as close as you can get to owning a piece of cinema history.

I appreciate them opening this up for collectors and preservation. But also to be able to support all these crafts people and keep the lights on. And TIL what amberlith and rubylith is.

I bought my Rick Deckard ID card and the Back To The Future license plates over a week ago, when they first announced that they were selling replicas. Thanks Adam and Michael!

❤ Seriously, could you just keep coming back here every now and then on a semi permanent basis to show us other printed props? So many hidden treasures and stories those items have to tell!

Oh this is so smart! Sell the printings, cuz that's what they DO there! And with Michael and his team to identify and tell us the history of every item, we get to benefit, and he gets to geek out, and we LEARN stuff, and history gets preserved! This is like the Library of Alexandria, but as a printing shop that can easily make and disseminate copies of its treasure trove!

I have to be honest, I was surprised when Michael said that he worked with then for inly 2 years! He sounds like he’s been working there for ages! Just goes to show you how much he loves that place :)

It dawned on me a few days ago that if places like this that make props that show up in so many places, were to make the dimensions available to the general public, prop replicators would have a lot more references to work with. That is, instead of having to figure out how big a gun or book or swoard is based on a guesstimate of the actor's height, you could figure it out based on knowing the exact size of, for example, the newspaper the actor set it down on or the can of Smeat it's sitting next to.

So nice seeing two people so excited about a passion they share and with such respect for each other. This is what sum up the Maker space / STEAM etc. People doing things and comming togather for the passion and joy of it, and wanting to share that with the world.

I've really been loving this series of videos. It continues to amaze me just how much has been created over the years and the pure joy on Adams face as he discovers more and more

How do you hold an “outtime” plate and resist the urge to spin it on the corner?

Thank you so much for all the videos you've done at Earl Hayes Press; the stuff you've shown us there has been consistently amazing.

And thank you to introducing us to Michael Corrie- I immediately subscribed to his channel and have been consistently rewarded with his excellent videos.

I would absolutely buy tons of Beetlejuice business cards and discretely put them in random people's pockets.

You would think that places like this, (and I’m sure there aren’t as many of these prop places exactly like this) could have already put props up for sale just to generate revenue. You know the demand is high for many movie props. Who wouldn’t want license plates, or newspapers? This is pretty cool for sure. I bet the blade runner ID badge won’t go for cheap if they are limited.

It’s pretty sweet to see things that we really take for granted in the movie industry…that’s part of the movie magic. Love it!

Truly both a national and cultural treasure house. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing so much more in the future that can be uncovered and rediscovered.

A lot of iconic recreations of well remembered, and loved movies! That's totally cool. I'd be drooling over the Sports almanac recreation, and the back to the future license plate! They look great, and painstakingly made.

We love seeing props like these. The "news" article could be made up for Knight Rider. Or any TV program or movie...
