I loved SAO S1 because I watched it as the shows were released weekly. That really built tension into knowing whether or not they survived!

Tbh, SAO was extremely hyped up prior to it's release. It was the first of its genre to introduce a modern isekai adaptation. Millions of people were looking forward to it, and guess what, it was fantastic. The first Arc of season one is nostalgic. Then, the second Arc came and oof.... It just went downhill and started to get bad rep. It's a shame though, because SAO had the potential to be HUGE. Now, anytime someone says, "I like SAO" they are seen as a freak because all they remember is the second Arc when Kirito's cousin was into him (virtually) and cried, "incest, incest, incest" for years and years. People never really watched SAO again, but in my opinion, the newer releases are actually not that bad.

Look we all realistically know we don't always like everything we get, for what it is on it's own. I don't like every individual gift i've ever gotten, I like the person who gave it to me and what it meant to receive it.

This is why I don't like accepting physical gifts, and all my friends know this. All of my presents are experiences, rather than physical. That way, everyone gets something...the experience, a new memory, hanging out with friends etc.

I think it's fine for Poki to not particularly like the gift, but the problem is she forgot where it came from. Also not knowing it's his favourite particular anime which is why she probably got those specific ones in the first place makes it worse haha. Easiest apology...dress up as Asuna for a night.
