HELL no! Who in their right mind wants to spend Christmas with THAT freak? My Dad used to watch that show on PBS back in the day on Saturday nights when the weekly creature feature wrapped up. The only "Doctor" I've known was the tall skinny guy with the curly hair and Arnold Horschach scarf. It seems like that show was just re-runs of his particular era for the longest time, and then the Sci-Fi channel started broadcasting a new version in the late 90's or early 2000's, but I'm no expert in this field.

Doctor Who Christmas Specials used to be must watch viewing, sadly they've not been that for many years.

Oh and must say that Ncuti Gayway does have at least another acting string to his bow, he goes after "BOABY" (Scottish slang, Google it😉) like a man in the desert goes after a pint of water.

I will be plugging in my usb stick and watching my Christmas tv where there is nothing but classic Christmas films and tv shows for the hole day and night

Big special effects are all very well, but ultimately, what is needed is a great script (that's probably too much to ask right now) and great actors.
I've enjoyed A Ghost Story for Christmas by Mark Gatiss, adapted from great stories and starring great actors, such as Peter Capaldi and Kit Harrington. They didn't require big budget effects but still managed to be entertainingly creepy.
I'm not saying that's what everyone would like to watch, but Christmas has been a time for spooky stories for centuries.
I think despite its low budget, last years story got about the same same number of overnight viewers as some of Ncuti's stories so they wouldn't be losing viewers.
Plus it was only about 30 mins long and late at night on BBC 2.

Okay, I will confess that I had not actually heard of Bridgerton prior to The Crying Man name dropping it constantly and only just looked it you properly.

So the basic premise is that Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was part African?

And because she was part African, King George III made a bunch of African descendants aristocrats?

Wow.

I mean One - no she wasn't. The entire lie is based around some dude in the 1920s claiming that all the existing historical portraits are a lie and the one portrait where she is painting as having a big nose and puffy lips is true and because big noses and puffy lips are CLEARLY something only Africans have, Charlotte must have been African AND the most likely suspect for this African ancestor is a Moorish or Mozarab woman from the 13th century. (also - spoiler: In historical context neither word mean 'black person' cause, second spoiler: Africa has never been a race.)

And Two - NOT HOW the aristocracy works.

I mean Grud, I had heard Bridgerton was cheesey, but I never knew it was race biting and culturally offensive.
