I recently bought this device and have some issues with the audio quality, but as you said it is all determined by the frequency you use. I bought it at BestBuy and it was $51.

Unless your car battery is very close to death, the small amount of current that an iPhone will draw shouldn't be a problem. That said, many cars don't let you draw current through the cigarette lighter when the engine is off.

My one keeps turning itself off. I plug it in, it would work fine, green light is on, then it would turn off.  This is my second universal fm transmitter for my note 3.  Although my iphone fm transmitter has no connection problem

why use this instead of just pluging your mp3 player to your car stereo most car steros have jacks or usb so whats the difrence between this

'clear station' and audio quality are not the same. And the audio quality of this transmitter is bad. Modulation is minimal, even with pro2 enabled and MP3 at max. Emphasis seems missing, as is compression. In total it produces a weak empty sound that cannot compete with a real FM transmitter.

OR you could buy an Android smartphone and have a device that uses industry standards instead of proprietary ports...

NO. You have to add another 50% to the price by buying Apples overpriced converter from the old to the new iPhone plugs. :-(
