Screen Capture For Mac (Snagit Tutorial)

If you need to record your screen on Mac or a PC then look no further. Snagit is my go-to software. I've tried other programs like Screenflow and haven't like them as much as this one.

This is genuinely the best program for screen recording. I personally use a Macbook Pro and it works great, but the software also works on a PC.

I've used this program to record my voice + a slide presentation to be used in an online course and also for b-roll for my YouTube videos, among other things. If you're looking for how to record your screen on mac or PC, I can't recommend it enough.

I like Loom. It’s got a free plan and the paid plan is flexible $8-10/mo. Everything is auto uploaded to the cloud as well so you can quickly share it with others if you’re creating instructions for customers or your team.

Let's say I've scrolled over five pages to create the video capture. How do I then print the five pages? My end goal is to have a physical copy of an online webcourse. You can also click a button to record yourself with webcam and switch back to your screen. I purchased SnagIt a couple months ago, and it's one of my favorite pieces of software which I use every day.

I also find Windows built in recorder quite useful. It is designed for Gamers, so it has its limitations.
It is easy to reach, just press the Windows button and G.
I mostly use it when I record my trainings for my virtual assistants.

Checkout OBS Studio for OSX. It's free open source and supports Windows and Linux as well. It can record your screen. It might not be the most user friendly but it's extremely powerful. Good for live streaming and screen/window recording.

Snag it is definitely awesome I totally forgot all about them!
Question, in your screen recording travels, have you used either Camtasia or Loom?
I bought camtasia a while back and while it seems more advanced, there's no easy process for just hitting record and getting the mp4/mov file downloaded. It's like they want you to use their editor.
And for Loom, from what I gather this is direct replacement of snagit, but Loom automatically uploads all of the videos to a cloud for quick sharing to others. So again, there's an added step of having to download it after. (It is great if I'm just sharing a workflow with someone though)

I really do like the fact that snagit lets you save the file to your computer right aftter, so I guess I'll be checking out snag it again.
