We invited our top most guests then had a waiting list ready. When they started cancelling closer to the date we immediately followed up with an invitation to the next name on our waiting list. Hindsight is 20/20. Great video! Very useful.

Saludos muchachos y muchas felicidades 🤗✨

The list of most to least important is the best tip!!, it'll help you keep focus. Our top 3 were food, drinks and music and right down at the bottom was flowers, so we knew we'd rather not have many (or more expensive) flowers, but we DID spent more time and effort searching for our caterers, and we (along with our guests) loved it so much, we hired them again for many other events (she's become a part of the family now, she even catered our daughter's 1st birthday too)

Oh man, the guests 😂 They drove me nuts when I was organising our international wedding last year. We had invited around 80 people and had given them a deadline to rsvp up to one month before the wedding. Some strung us along until way past the deadline. One group of distant relatives rsvp'd yes 2 weeks prior to the wedding on the same day I had just finalized the seating plan arrangements and sent the seating list tableau to print already. We had multiple flight cancellations due to airport worker strikes 2 days before the wedding. Including that of the best man... At the end out of 85 invited only around 55 showed. The vibe was not the same. All in all I enjoyed everything about the planning BUT dealing with guests. 😅

Also all the other points - strongly agree!
We did pretty much the same - digital save the date's and a website with all the info (that guest didn't bother to read carefully), detailed instructions to all the services providers about the designs, colours, music playlist, schedule etc, writing vows for the ceremony (my husband actually wrote them in the form of a poem, that was my absolute favourite part). Despite the careful planning though we had massive delays and almost nothing went according to plan 😅
By the way, especially now that you guys are in France, I sooo wish we could get married all over again so that you could do our wedding story 🥲

Yo si los contrataría para mi boda! Se ve que son súper cuidadosos con los detalles y que les apasiona organizar proyectos. Además son muy constantes y trabajadores! Nomas me falta el novio😅

The way how Joss perfectly planned everything, I wonder if she has some hidden German genes. 😂

I thought 80 were too many but then I started thinking about my family and realized it's actually very little! I guess it's easier to narrow the list when it's a destination wedding tho, my cousin also married abroad and only 6 people could make it to her wedding, mom and dad included

"I planned my entire wedding on my own..." I have the utmost respect for Joss and it was not a bad idea. That is the most sure-fire way to get everything a married couple would want at their wedding: doing it themselves. Those things mentioned in the video are handy for people that are working on having a wedding, but not having everything at Joss and Janik's wedding was fine because I thought it was PERFECT!!! Just the way it was. I can't wait to see what is next for Joss and Janik.💚
Maybe the next chapter is Joss being a wedding planner and Janik coming with her to be the wedding cinematographer. I appreciate that they only chose to do 12 weddings a year for the highest quality work. 👍

My wedding was somewhat low-key. It was in a courthouse and took place 6 months after the proposal. The most strenuous part of the planning was getting the paperwork sorted out in time for the wedding. I needed to request a new copy of my birth certificate, have my mom mail it to me, get it officially translated, so that it could go to some court to be approved before they would give us the appointment to discuss what other paperwork we needed. I think I started the paperwork process the day of or after the proposal, and we ended up having about 2 weeks to spare before the wedding. Some of my family had already planned the previous year to come visit for a few days, and so we wanted to have the wedding during the time they were here. I guess if the paperwork had taken longer, we would have still had an unofficial ceremony with them and the official one later.

Thank you Janik for the letter to each other! We're having a catholic ceremony and you're right, we don't get to say our own written vows!
