Finding a good method for performing live, improvisational music using Ableton Live can be tricky. There are a lot of approaches, but this one has been the most successful for me and many others. This particular setup utilizes loopers and MIDI mapping to allow for fast and easy looping across many instruments. Having a separate looper on every track allows for the maximum amount of flexibility.

somehow I ended up here in your channel. Nice video, lots of work here so thanks for that. I am always trying to improve my live setup using live instruments and you have some nice ideas here, but I wonder how would you suggest mapping and using everything using session clips of each track instead of the looper. The advantage of using the looper is that it is really easy to use, but using clips is not hard either but allows you to have 2 or 3 different loops (or more) on the same track, and then recall them anytime, this way you can have some sort of verse and chorus and go back and forth between them. How would you do it using your current gear? (apc and the small controller). I am not sure how it is best to map it all. cheers!
