“Because I stutter, I scat sing. Because I scat sing, I’m Scatman. I turned my worst problem, and turned it into my greatest asset.
The scatting gave me the opportunity to stutter freely!”
--“Scatman John” Larkin—

"I hope that the kids, while they sing along to my songs or dance to it, feel that life is not that bad at all. Even for just a minute." - Scatman John

everything about this is wonderful. Scatman john, paying tribute to The Man whom'st'd've taught him scat. There is nothing, on earth, in all eras, that could replace this

It's just so pure, so hard to be cynical while Scatman's playing. If there's an afterlife, I hope he knows how important his music still is.

People these days talk a lot about things like cultural appropriation and paying tribute to the roots of your passions and whatnot. I think this is the best example of how you do it. It's fun, celebratory, there's representation, and he's paying tribute to the black artists who created this wonderful music we all love no matter of our race! Basically, it's ok to love things invented by other cultures, just pay tribute and know the history of your favorite shit!

Mr. Larkin teaches us all a great lesson: don't let your desire to make people happy keep you from being deeply, joyfully weird.
I'm trying to find the balance, hope we all get it soon.

This is his best song. The scat is on point and works so well as a duet with Louie Armstrong’s trumpet playing, plus the Louie samples and the tribute to him as a jazz legend

It's been 20 years since Scatman John left us and went to Scatland. I'll be 100% honest. When I first heard this song, I thought it was another lame pop song, but after hearing his songs and knowing his story of overcoming and turning his disibility into his career. Everytime I listen to any Scatman John song. I feel happy and positive, even it's just for a few short minutes. He might've had a late shot in life and didn't get his big break until he was 53, but he has left a legacy that will live on. Thank you, Scatman. You may be gone, but your legacy will live on forever.

Never thought I'd find a Eurodance song about how awesome Louis Armstrong was, but I'm sure glad I did. He and Scatman John lived incredibly inspiring lives.
