WHAT IS THE ZERO 2 W?

Here’s the Pi Zero 2 W itself. Along with the Zero W and Zero it is the smallest Raspberry Pi ever made. OK, I’m not counting the Pico here.
Basically, the Zero series is all about being small – in space, and in price.

The original Zero, the 5 $ computer was given away for free on the cover of the MagPi magazine.

The Zero 2W is a 15 $ computer. Realistically it’s going to be a bit more expensive, as you will need some accessories, add shipping and local taxes.

And it packs a punch for these 15 $. Most notably, it is five times faster than the previous Zero W!

There’s only wireless networking on the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W.
Let’s talk about this.

The Zero 2 W has WLAN 802.11 b/g/n. It’s 2.4 GHz WLAN – no 5 GHz on the Zero series, if you need 5 GHz WLAN you’ll have to use an external WiFi adapter, or you’ll have to switch to the Pi 4.
It also has Bluetooth 4.2 and Bluetooth Low Energy (or BLE). This is an upgrade which allows up to 2.5 times faster communication over the low energy link.
The Zero 2 W uses the same tried-and-true PCB trace antenna design. Right next to it is a landing pad for a U.FL connector – we are probably going to see some modifications with an external antenna as soon as the Zero 2W is in the hands of people who are wizards with the soldering iron!
Finally, the WLAN chip is inside a metal shield. This is important for so-called modular certification, for companies who want to use the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W inside their own products. This allows companies to spend less money and time on getting their products certified in international markets.

If you want to use a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W inside your product, please talk to us, we can support you with this.

The gold is in the form of wires connecting the ram to the processor in the SIC RP3A0 - AU. I would use the Pi Zero W for a video player project.

The gold is in the bonding wire going from the chip to the ram inside the rp3a0-au package.
i hope to get one to learn some python programing. as well as playing some older games! :D

The power should be perfect for a pihole yes? I can not say what specific project i would use it for as i would play with it until IT found its new home. Maybe wifi doorbell / camera.
Gold is in between ram and cpu.

Ps. thank you for the video! It was entertaining as well as informative.

wires that connect the memory and the processor are made of gold. I need Raspberry Pi Zero WH to build a Volumio streamer with DAC HAT.

The gold wire connects the cpu and memory. I'd replace my current pizero W's running RTSP to my Pi 4 NVR running Shinobi. The wifi sent to the NVR is lagging and I understand the wifi on zero 2W is a little faster. May also install tiny core Linux on 2W to get even better performance.

The Gold is the connecton betwenn RAM and Soc.
To build a Drone out of ist Pi is a nice idea so I want to try this.

ok the gold connects the SoC and and ram in RP3A0 it can be see with x Ray
My project will display weather in the browser and be a digital frame for my wedding photos and at last a print server A all in one 😀

The Gold is the connetion between RAM und SoC inside of the Chip. To build a camera out of the pi is very interessting unfortunately the HQ camera is expensive.

Gold in Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W is in the SoC RP3A0 - AU with two sets of gold wires - connecting RAM and BCM2710A1. Regardless of raffle I will use one of RPI2W in SDR radar project.

The gold is the connection between the SoC and RAM and ist hidden in the Chip. I like to try to build a wetherstation with the pi.

The “AU” as part of the RP3A0-AU name indicates that the package uses gold bond wires. In a previous pre-production sample, copper bond wires had been used – the gold wires were finally chosen by Raspbery Pi for improved long-term product reliability.
If I win, i would use the RPZ2W as a pulse generator controller. Regards!

I'd convert my ender 3 to run klipper and the pi zero 2 w is perfect for that as the old zero w was to slow. The gold is located at the contacts for whites as gold has a high conductivity. It cam also be found on the PCB it self

The gold is the bonding wires between the System-On-a-Chip and the RAM.

Currently, I have no computer available, and with the current hardware market prices, ...I don't plan on buying one anytime soon.
So it would be great for me as I could it use it as a low-end computer.

While the processor is not a X86 (Intel/AMD), the ARMv8 architecture of the Zero 2W increases *significantly* the binary compatibility of Linux applications (makes me able to run software that I *simply can't* currently run).
As well the support of more Linux Distros.
The two areas where my current Raspberry Pi Zero W heavily lags behind.

The new Pi 0 2 has gold bond wires connecting the RAM and the SoC. I would like to use this in my status display which is based around a 512x32 VFD and displays updates on everything from my software builds to the local weather conditions and forecast.

The gold is between the bonds of the ram and processor in the system on a chip, I would probably use it as a retro game machine.

The gold is in the connection between the ram and the processor in the new SoC, it will help with the longevity of the package. I plan on upgrading my Handheld emulator system with the new zero 2. Also, fun fact, there is a tiny raspberry pi logo made in the bga below the soc. :D the engineers were having fun with the design.

The gold is located in the wires and connectors which wire the pi up.
I would use the pi zero two w as a mini server for my discord bot and future projects like websites and such.
