1280x800 is the resolution. For a traditional pc, absolute dogshit. For a handheld system, actually really good

4k 27" ppi(pixels per inch) = 163
800p 7" ppi = 215

the steam deck's screen is more crisp than 4k on 27"!

Lool you know battery life is a thing. At 7 inches, the bump from 720p to 1080p at the cost of battery life and performance is definitely not worth it.

Fun fact iPhone 11 uses 800p LCD panel too (828p or something like that)

2. The 512 version of the screen is BEAST
3. The triggers on the back come in handy.. just program them per game
4. Can run windows.. (windows 10 comes fully equiped with sound and all.. buggy but it works)
5. It's awesome af. Happy I got one on sale.

What people forget is resolution isn't what actually matters, it's the pixels per inch. Yeah 800p is terriblr on a desktop, but on a 7 inch screen it's amazing, as the pixels per inch is over 200.

The back buttons are incredibly important for pc games with a lot of buttons

I use the L4 button for f3 when I am playing minecraft

Yes i do use those triggers on the back.
Minecraft: Java Edition
L5: Switch between menu and game control modes, in menu mode, clicking rigjt trackpad is left click, in game mode it's space (jump)
L4: Zoom key
R5: Crouch/Descend flying

don't know if you know the resolution ratio for that size of a screen. 1080p on a 7 inch screen wouldn't make a huge difference. It's like jumping from 1080 to 4k monitor. To take full advantage of that you'd be buying yourself a way bigger monitor.

It's 800p and it's a small screen so resolution is less important.

As a Steamdeck owner yes we use the back buttons. Me mostly for shorcuts to keyboard commands. The screen is more than adequate. Not as nice as the new OLED model obviously but hook to an external display if you need something prettier. Apparently the handhelds with better screens crush battery and performance when trying to use the extra capabilities anyway.
