Ok. Having watched the entire thing now, I can say I am impressed with the technical aspects and everything. Most of what was discussed was issues I have identified myself in my client. I use Linux, and it runs well. DXVK to the rescue!
However, the single threaded nature of EVE really shows on my system. Whenever there is a UI update (Mouse click, damage notification, etc. (even just loading new resources to memory)) my client stutters.
Obviously this is not CCP's issue, but it relates well to the single-threaded nature of the client and the pipeline in general (Running a Ryzen 2600x, and almost always, is one thread pinned to 100%)
However, my previous comment on using Vulkan instead of DX12 stands. DX12 is convenient as the API is a continuation of previous DX implementations, however, it is also a very proprietary API. Vulkan is cross-platform in its nature, and would require less maintenance from the CCP devs in the long run. Also, Vulkan edges our DX12 in performance in most cases.
But all in all, it is good to see such talented people working on our important spaceship game. I can say on behalf of all of the community that we appreciate it!

The benefits sound promising.
Yet all and more could be done with Vulkan without a MicroSoft vendor lock.

Good info in the presentation! Really amazing to see that the implementation of changes shakes loose bugs previously hidden! Love that sort of thing. It'll be nice when dx12 is fully implemented with multithreaded processing and full hi-res textures - gonna be hard to separate it from official videos ;D

I Really want a EvE Probe download link like in the old days, not sure if there has been an public version of EvE probe since 2015?

Does this mean if you don't have DX12 that the game will not work ?

Hmm.. Aslong as it still runs on Linux..
Although I would prefer Vulkan ofc

WHY DID YOU SWITCH THE WATCHLIST HP BAR FROM right TO left structure/shield orientation ???? is this a joke or mistake? or expirement? armor bar is now almost not separate... and badly visible

Vulkan! Use Vulkan! Dx12 is too proprietary, and Microsoft has too much power anywho.
