I don’t know if I’d consider that a true cobra. Cobra tends to be a hard high alpha pull to drain energy followed by a negative g pushover. This is more like a high G Immelmann.

That reaction was the Hornet's mistake. That cobra should have been a death sentence. The Hornet's best option was to go into the vertical and use the excess energy he had there to his advantage. There aren't too many avenues for a Hornet to defeat a Flanker guns only, so take every advantage you can. after you've reset the fight into the vertical, use that things brick like nature and force the fight down low where the Hornet can potentially have a chance to sustain a 2 circle fight.
