Someone mentioned somewhere that this thing doesn't make 80HP, and I do beg to differ. I have had 4 kx500's and this is the best of them all! No porting, but what a difference the klotz makes, the pipe, the rad valve, the big carb, and the muffler. No need for porting! It has way more than you can use in real life, traction is your ONLY limitation.

I just wanna say, the reality is that no dirt bike should ever have this much power, it pales in comparison to the brakes for one. It is capable of serious sick speed quick, and unless your one that has a millisecond quick throttle hand, might just land you in a heap of trouble. I really wish it had a 6 speed tranny, 1st is geared way high, and sometimes you feel like you don't have the right gear for everything. I think it idles in 1st at like 10 mph! In my opinion it is no trail bike, not for tight twisty stuff, the rake on the forks isn't really designed for tight turning, however if you have trails where you have extended open straightaways, or desert, the rake will give you confidence to explore it's power. No CR shake, no need for a stabilizer, the bike always seems rock solid no matter the speed. It's just that the trees or something else can hurt real bad, shit brakes combined with too much power is a recipe for disaster. They labeled it the widow maker for a reason, and I agree

hay robert i have the rad vaulve and fmf pipe and silencer went to sudco web page and didnt see any 41.5 taper bore carbs where did you get yours

Hi Robert, I know you sold the KX, but I just found a low hour 2004. Is it still a rocket in stock form? What did you do to the bike to get it to run so smooth? Thank you!

hay robert my 500 has the 39.9 kiehnen carb runnin 168 main 58 pilot n82m needle and doesnt sound like yours, but sure would like it too

hay robert i finally got the 41.5 taperbore carb its good on top its just the pilot jet its still a little rich how low did you go on yours for that crisp sounding throttle responce i think im at 58 pilot 175 main

curious what your jet size is? are the jets that work in that carb ones that work in the stock wpk 39
