As soon as that dog got up, then immediately got down I said "Oh, sh*t!" in the most concerned and serious way I have said it in SO LONG!! God dang!!

This hits harder for me since we had a scare with our 10 year old dog tonight. He was acting like he couldn't move, shaking a lot, and looking really scared, my brother told me. I hadn't been home from work as early as him to see it, but my brother has been worried sick about Jake all night since it happened. 😢

Honestly Vets are right up there with nurses and doctors for me they’re such kind hearted people that fully understand what you’re feeling in moments like that

We went through this when ours was two years old. That shot every month...costs about $170. Every month. He is very much worth it. He is now five and a half and the bestest doggo ever. Every day is a blessing with him.

Man, this really hits home. I had a black lab border Collie mix that I'm pretty sure had this problem. We took her to the vet...they gave her what they called a "crisis shot" and the vet wasn't entirely sure if that's what Bella had and said they would have to run more tests which my dad and I did not have the money for. The vet said it was either her adrenal glands weren't working right or her kidneys were failing. So we went home and that night after we got back from the vet Bella was already doing so much better but...then a week later she got worse again...Bella died sadly. It was $80 a month to keep her alive if it were her adrenal glands..once again...not enough money. But it's ok, it's been almost four years since Bella died and I miss her still, but I'm glad she is no longer suffering.

My dog came down with Cushing's disease, two years later it evolved into Addison's disease.
All these years later, I still miss my sweet little boy. q_q

As someone who had to unexpectedly put her best friend Gus, a 5 yr.old Pug, down recently this broke my heart 😢💔.
I was shoveling today and found myself making a path for him to use to go potty on.
I can't even sleep without hearing him snore..
My heart aches every single day.. worst Christmas ever without him. I'm still finding his toys in random places thinking everything was donated or put away.
RIP GUS..2019-2024
I LOVE YOU & Miss you every single day.. so so much! And I always will.

My dog has Addison's disease. He crashed one day and he was still young only two so we knew something was wrong. Gave him IV fluids and i remember how scary it was. He was just a puppy. He's 6 now and it's the happiest dog in the world. Loves people

I have Addison's & it's like walking a tightrope every day.
What the very said, to not have his owners there that night, it's right. During a crisis, ANY kind of stress can be the death of you. Good or bad stress, & a pup who wakes momentarily or hears it's beloveds' voices can easily get excited & trigger a deeper crisis.
The best you or anyone can do for someone w/ Addison's, be it a loved pet or relative, is to keep themselves & them calm & get them medical care as quickly as possible.
I know it seems counterintuitive to leave the patient alone except for the vet staff, especially a pet, but believe me, stress in this situation is crucial to be avoided.

This scene brings back sad memories of last month. We had to put our dog of 10 years, Athena, down due to organ failure because of old age. It really sucks to lose a friend you've had for so long. 😢😢

Went through this 1 and a half years ago, when my 14 years old cat suddenly got so slow and did not eat her favorite snack. Took her to Vet to know that she had a tumor on her chest. I have taken care of her for almost 3 months, until she decided to leave me in my arms. She's sweet even at her last moment. Her name was Luna, she is my first cat and the sweetest so far. I love her still ♡

My girl was fine one night, woke up the next morning and had to rush her to the vet. I was told she wouldn't make it the rest of the day. The biggest mistake i made was not taking her sister with us. My other dog fell into a deep depression, there wasn't anything I could do for her. But cry with her. I finally got another puppy after 6 months, it took her another 6 months before she was ok with the puppy. Now I don't separate them.

I wish all vets were this compassionate & understanding. During Covid we had to put one of our Huskies down because she had cancer & because we couldn't pay the full fee right away, the vet wouldn't do it, so i slept on the floor with her those two awful nights before we found a vet with some empathy. Money has ruined people.

My pet cat recently got spayed n the operation went well but still me n hubby n son were giving her full attention all the time. I stayed up 2 nights to ensure she's OK. Hubby n son carried her around like a baby. We totally understand the grief of a pet parent when pet is unwell.

Just lost my lab in August at the euthanasia apt found out she had a tumor behind her eye which caused 2 strokes in the span of 3 years and she was in so much pain her final days she almost took the life of one our puppies from a dog who was a service dog for the first years of her life to blind with cancer being laid to rest at 8 it's honestly horrible how much stuff labs can get with no warning signs or vets who actually give a fuck and push you aside I wish more vets where like that one❤

My first dog, snoopy, had addison’s disease. He was such a silly old man.. he finally felt safe to relax and then boom he was diagnosed much like this dog. He had a few other small episodes through the year or so we had him until he collapsed and died in front of me and my mom and sister. He was such a little goofy beagle-basset that loved food and love, I really miss him.

My cat had chronic renal failure, the symptoms were masked by, first, An intestinal parasitic infection, then Gingivitis, at the end, A case of bronchitis make him collapse, hemobartonella already destroyed his blood cells and he couldnt make it. The vet did everything she could with what she had, but we took him home and passed beside his owner and companion, my grandma. He had only 7 years, and it had been two weeks full of tears and laughs and missing him so much

We brought our dog to a pet clinic due to seizures… next day we went back, they told us that he had seizures as soon as the meds stopped working… he was 16… we decided to let him go.

The worst thing they did… asking us if we are sure to let him go, as they could do some MRI scans etc…. We let him go. I felt guilty for 2 years… only because they wanted to make money instead of telling us the truth that he wouldn’t make it anyway..

Our vet told us afterwards that we did the only and right thing.

I wish all vets are honest
